Humber Galleries is Looking for Students to Join New Creation Project

Humber Galleries is looking to explore how different disciplines can inspire creation in one another while working completely separate. Bringing together a group of multi-disciplinary Humber students to help us we’ve created a new project entitled REACTIVATION.

REACTIVATION begins with reactivating our Permanent Art Collection by activating student collaboration. Taking a handful of collection artworks, we have tasked a small group of student creatives to create musical works in direct reaction to these artworks; focusing in on their initial reaction and creating work based directly on that inspiration. From there, these musical pieces will be given to a second group of students to react in the same way, only this time in the form of movement or dance pieces. This process then repeats for other groups of student creatives that will create works in both the Physical and Digital artwork fields.

Open to all Humber students, this project will take place from February 28 to April 11 with the final online exhibition going live April 19.

Applications are open now at: http://humbergalleries.ca/reactivation

Space is limited and participants will be selected by a panel of Humber staff. All creatives chosen will be given a $200 honourarium for their participation.
