Further to our June announcement, effective October 4, Humber’s Community Outreach and Workforce Development (COWD) team will report to Kelly Jackson, who will be taking on the role of Vice-President, External Affairs and Professional Learning. COWD work will continue to be led by Geraldine Babcock, the department director.
Along with other departments that will comprise Kelly’s portfolio, COWD supports Humber’s external relationships and connects the college’s vision and priorities to the needs and interests of our learners, alumni, donors, and industry, community and government partners. They carry this work out through numerous community development initiatives and through collaboration with Faculties and other stakeholders to provide tailored programs that support equity seeking groups in accessing opportunities for training, education and employment.
Humber’s Community Employment Services continue to be part of the Students and Institutional Planning portfolio that reports to Jason Hunter, Vice-President, Students and Institutional Planning, as these services support a coordinated approach to ensuring successful career outcomes for students and clients. Elana Lewis and the HCES team will report to Chantal Joy, Associate Dean, Transition & Academic Support, Student Success & Engagement.
