On January 7, 2025, a memorandum of agreement was signed between OPSEU/SEFPO and the College Employer Council (CEC) representing all Ontario Colleges regarding changes on the benefits premium share for partial load employees.
The premium share changes are that employees will pay 75 per cent of the premiums and employers will pay 25 per cent of the premiums for vision, hearing, and dental benefits coverage. This premium share change will be effective as of May 1, 2025.
All active Partial Load employees will have the opportunity to opt in (if they are not already enrolled). The open enrolment process will be from March 17, 2025 to April 17, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
Active Partial Load Contract (6.5-12 Hours per Week) for the Winter 2025 semester – January 2, 2025 to April 30, 2025. This includes partial load faculty who may have previously declined vision, hearing and/or dental coverage.
Enrolment:
To opt in for the vision, hearing, and dental coverage, an Open Enrolment Form must be completed and submitted by each partial load employee by the end of day April 17, 2025.
