Dear Humber Polytechnic Community,
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of Quazance Boissoneau, who has been an integral part of our team for the past 12 years. Growing up in Northern Ontario, Quazance began playing sports at a young age and later played basketball at the collegiate level – where she set her eyes on Humber. This experience helped her understand the power of sport to unite diverse communities and create hope and change.
Quazance has managed the Indigenous Education & Engagement Centre, providing invaluable support and creating a safe space for Indigenous students to explore their culture and network with other Indigenous learners. As an Anishinaabekwe from Garden River First Nation, she has been dedicated to making the transition to Toronto easier for Indigenous peoples who were from rural and Northern communities. Her contributions have made a lasting impact on our community, and we are grateful for her commitment and passion. While we will miss her presence, we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
Thank you, Quazance, for your years of service and dedication.
Sincerely,
Elijah M Williams
Dean, Indigenous Education & Engagementa
