Help us promote the Humber Student Success Survey (HSSS)!

At Humber, student success and retention are institutional priorities; understanding our students is essential to provide focus for student success initiatives. Every year, 3 in 4 incoming students successfully complete their first year. However, 1 in 4 leave Humber within the first year. It is imperative that Humber is able to identify students at risk of attrition and initiate timely interventions.

The Humber Student Success Survey (HSSS) is one means of identifying students at risk. The survey is administered each year to students in all semesters. The four purposes of the survey are:

  • To understand our diverse student population so that we can assess the extent to which we are meeting their needs;
  • To understand students’ academic and career goals;
  • To identify students who may be at risk of attrition; and
  • To gain a broad understanding of students’ support needs to allow for service planning and resource allocation.

All students will receive a unique link to the survey through email and on their Blackboard ‘Activity Stream’ on Wednesday, October 15. The survey will remain open until Sunday, November 2.

Students who complete the survey can enter a prize draw for a chance to win incredible prizes – encourage your students to complete the survey to increase their Faculty’s response rate!

  • Students in Faculty with HIGHEST response rate are entered to win $2,000 towards tuition!
  • Students in Faculty with SECOND HIGHEST response rate are entered to win $1,500 towards tuition!
  • Students in Faculty with THIRD HIGHEST response rate are entered to win $1,000 towards tuition!
  • Students in Faculty with Fourth, Fifth or Sixth highest response rates are entered to win one of three (3) $500 tuition prizes.
  • All students who complete the survey will be entered in the draw to win an iPad (approx. value $500) or Chromebook (approx. value $550).

Please help us to ensure a strong response to this survey by encouraging students in full-time programs (all years) to complete the survey so that we can continue to make a positive impact in their success!
