The Faculty of Media and Creative Arts (FMCA) believes that we can all benefit from universal and inclusive design and so they have designed a free, open-access, online course called Making Accessible Media: Accessible Design in Digital Media. The course contains a comprehensive set of modules to guide educators on how to "design like we give a damn" in the words of Léonie Watson, an accessibility engineer, writer and public speaker.
This course focuses on:
- representation of disability in media
- video captioning
- audio transcription
- described video and live captioning for broadcast
- alternative text for image description
- tutorials on how to make accessible documents and presentations.
