1) What are Personal Training sessions?

Personal Training sessions are one-on-one fitness sessions with a certified trainer who will provide individualized guidance, support, and instruction to help you achieve your fitness goals.

2) How long are the Personal Training sessions?

All Personal Training sessions are typically one hour in length. This timeframe allows for a comprehensive workout that includes warm-up, exercise instruction, and cool-down periods.

3) What packages are available for Personal Training sessions?

We offer two packages for Personal Training sessions: 

  •  Basics Package: 1hr Consultation / Assessment and 3 one-hour training sessions.
  • Kickstart Package: 1hr Consultation / Assessment and 6 one-hour training sessions.
  • Add-on’s may be purchased after package is completed.

4) What does the Consultation / Assessment involve?

Prior to beginning training, your first hour will involve a consultation with the trainer. This is when your goals, health history, fitness level, and preferences will be discussed. An initial fitness assessment might be conducted to guide your training plan. Assessments could also take place in your initial training sessions.

5) Do the Personal Training packages include program design?

Yes and No. Your sessions with the trainer cover programming. But, if you'd like a separate program for self-use, a session(s) from your package can be utilized for the trainer to create it. When you consult with your trainer, discuss this for clarity. They can craft a personalized exercise plan that matches your goals, fitness level, and preferences. This plan will aid your independent workouts between training sessions.

6) What is the cancellation policy for Personal Training sessions?

We require 24 hours' notice for cancellation or rescheduling of Personal Training sessions. If the cancellation or rescheduling is not made within this timeframe, the session will be considered forfeited.

7) Are the trainers nationally certified?

Yes, all our trainers are nationally certified. They have undergone rigorous training and have obtained certifications recognized in the fitness industry. You can be assured that you will be working with qualified professionals who are knowledgeable and experienced in delivering effective and safe fitness programs.

8) Can I request a specific trainer for my Personal Training sessions?

Yes and No, you can request a specific trainer for your Personal Training sessions but depending on both parties availability we may not be able to accommodate. If you don't have a preference, a trainer will be assigned to you based on their availability.

9) Can I continue training after completing a package?

Absolutely! If you wish to continue training after completing a package, you can purchase add-on sessions.

10) Do Personal Training sessions include nutrition information or guidance?

No, Personal Training sessions do not include nutrition information or guidance. The focus of Personal Training is primarily on exercise instruction, guidance, and support to help you achieve your fitness goals. For nutrition-related guidance, we offer nutrition consultations.

11) Can I purchase the same package multiple times?

No, the packages can only be purchased once. However, after completing a package, you can continue training by purchasing add-on sessions.

12) Do I need to be a Student/Staff/Community Member to purchase Personal Training?

Yes, you must be a current Humber/GH student or staff or hold an active Athletics Community membership.

13) Is it possible for my friend and me to train together?

Unfortunately, we do not offer small group training due to individual variations in needs and fitness levels. If you're interested in working out with a friend, we recommend exploring our range of fitness classes, which provide a great option for joint workouts.

14) Is it possible to meet trainers before purchasing to find a suitable match?

Unfortunately, trainers are only available during their scheduled sessions, which may include classes they teach. To gauge their personalities, you could attend one of their classes. Additionally, check our YouTube channel (Humber College Athletics & Fitness) for content from trainers, which can provide further insights.
