The song "an angel cried" by ariana grande served as my inspiration when producing this piece. This work of art allowed me to express how I dislike showing other people when I'm down. I do my best to appear composed on the outside, but I can only maintain this appearance for so long before I break the glass. 2022 selena victorio Photography North Word of Mouth, Other 07-03-2022

I was heavily inspired by the work of Wes Anderson, and the emphasis he puts on color in his films. This piece also shares its title with a song from the Musical "Company", the song focuses on a woman mocking the well-dressed, and rich middle-aged women she sees spending their lives doing nothing, this idea of a woman well off and worry-free, was what drove me to create this image. 2022 Mackenzie Reid Photography North Faculty/Staff 07-03-2022 Honourable Mention

This piece blends both a material object (A home) and a person to create a metaphorical contrast between how a broken environment can in turn create a broken person. 2022 Annastacia Singleton Marketing North Word of Mouth, Email 07-03-2022

Drawing Pen/Ink 11'' x 14'' Original Piece Mandala art has a long history in many different cultures and spiritual traditions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Native American traditions. I was inspired by my personal interests, experiences, and emotions. I've also been inspired by other artists and artworks that include mandalas. Aside from that, doing such art always leaves me satisfied and stress-free. This work is a self portrait and the intention behind it was to show the beauty that can lie within vulnerability, especially as it relates to masculinity. While the culture towards men's mental health and show of emotion is improving, it's important to continue shedding light on social issues until they are completely unveiled so the real work can be done. 2022 Tyrese Gregg Photography North Social Media, Faculty/Staff 07-03-2022

Back in late January I was scrolling through Instagram and looking at some photographers that I admire and some shots caught my eye. Specifically the work of Benjamin Hardman, who is a photographer based in Iceland. He has some photos of glaciers and frozen lakes that had me mesmerized.
I wanted to see if I could get a similar shot so I packed up my gear and headed up to Jackson's Point, Georgina to try and shoot the frozen ice on Lake Simcoe. I got the drone up and was blown away by what I saw. The pressure cracks and windswept bits of ice created a beautiful symphony of abstract lines and shapes. There were so many little details and different layers that it was almost impossible to figure out what to focus on and photograph.

Drawing Pencil, Photo Collage 11-1/4" x 8" Original Piece Art has always been the medium to express myself and to portray my inner feelings. Essentially, my art represents a heterogeneous mixture of what I am currently experiencing in this new country. This is a representation of myself, my inner potential, showing the world that there is more than I can do. As a newbie in this country, it also mirrors the challenges that I had conquered and the future challenges that I will be facing in the next phase of my life. Cliché as it may seem, but as the society becomes more culturally diverse, breaking barriers is becoming a hard task. The three dots of collage, (which are exceedingly different from the rest), symbolize the complexity of life’s adjustments from my previous to present life situation. Nonetheless, no matter how diverse life can be and how people see the world differently, this should not be a deterrent for every person to live his best life in a community. 2022 Michael Golveo Interior Decorating North Email 07-03-2022

This is a photograph of a Citroën CX. The Citroën CX is an automobile that was produced by the French automaker Citroën from 1974 to 1991. It is a right-hand drive "fastback" sedan as they called it. They are very uncommon to see in Canada as they were never sold here and must be imported. Being a lover of cars, I was instantly captivated by the presence of this vehicle. I almost felt obligated to document it. This is just one of the 3 final photos of the car I took, but I think it says the most. It looked as if it hadn't been moved from that spot in weeks or maybe even months. Everything about the car was very intriguing to me. The license plate that read "Antique Auto", the semi-detached ducktail spoiler, and the bright yellow paint that I could tell was original. It just had so much character. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this car while I was out with some friends on a Sunday evening. Furthermore, I was even luckier that it happened to be at golden hour and I had my camera with me. These factors are what make this image very special to me. It felt as if I was just at the right place at the right time and things sort of just fell into place.
