Everytime I see him in the campus I make sure to say hi and give him a little rub, sometimes a hug. He relieves the school stress and loneliness I feel as an international student away from my family. I am in my final semester now and as I leave the college, Percy is one of the many things that I will miss after I graduate. Before this print, i tried several other pictures with different compositions. I wanted to create a print which depicts a portrait with an emotion of a different portrait. Altogether showing the division between a same subject which carries the attributes of another portrait. It was created with the feeling of silent changes. I wanted to create a feeling of warmth but still focus on the fact that summer was ending.

The Artist who inspired me to make this was Monica Tap with her one-second paintings. She made fast-paced paintings that felt like you were running into the trees. The pink flower is from a bouquet that my friend gifted me. The green glass vase is from my room which never had any flowers in it placed before. The furry scarf is my best friend's, which she gave it to me when I felt so cold outside on our cafe date. The 'Aaram' the gold plated necklace is my mom's, which I wore it for my sister's wedding. The red book is my personal diary. The jewel set wooden box is a gift for me from my best friend back in my country. These all relate to me in one or the way of the people who are very close to me and mean the whole world to me. I'm fond of the rule of thirds and things that stand out, so I wanted to make the leaf the subject of the image while applying rule of thirds. When ladies play 'Dhaya Pas' which is a game similar to Ludo while they gossip. Whereas the male talk about the news they heard about which will be basically politics. It has a routine of sweeping their door front and make 'kollams' which is called as rangoli. They gather around at a house, choose a 'thinai' (the place where they sit outside the house) and have a great time together. This happens after noon and they wind up before it gets dark to go do their household routines. The title 'Maalai Pozhuzhu' means evenings. I would spend my holidays at my native and this will be my view every evening. I decided to make this because the time I spend in my native has been reduced these years and I miss the old days. Even the elder people who play these have been aged and they don't play it anymore. I wanted this to be my lifetime memory and never to be forgotten. Painting Watercolour Paint 11x15 Original Piece A huge part of this diverse world is humans, who are even more diverse and have more potential. We, humans are part of nature who cannot claim anything like us. Yet we are negligent towards protecting the nature. If we don't take utmost care of nature now, then every single breath would be a luxury to live a health life as shown in my art wherein humans need to carry artificial oxygen supply tank for the lifetime.
