Five emerging Canadian filmmakers from the 2024 Future Storytellers program are bringing the stories of Canada's extraordinary changemakers to life through powerful short films. Thanks to the support of founding partner NBCUniversal – a longtime Humber supporter – Seeing Red and Cineplex, these three-minute vignettes premiere on January 31, 2025, at CanadasWalkofFame.com and will be featured in Cineplex theatres nationwide.
The Future Storytellers program provides mentorship from industry pioneers and the opportunity for young filmmakers to showcase their work on prestigious platforms. Among those selected to demonstrate their talents and creative vision this past July were three graduates from Humber Polytechnic.
Project pairings include Nick Tablac (Bachelor of Film and Media Production) with world champion figure skater Kurt Browning (2001 Canada’s Walk of Fame Inductee); Anne Hoang (Bachelor of Film and Media Production) with Indigenous Rights and Water Activist Autumn Peltier (2023 Canada’s Walk of Fame Community Hero); and Yagnam Dhroov (Television Writing and Producing; Film & Multiplatform Storytelling) with Linda Schuyler, co-creator of the hit show Degrassi (2023 Canada’s Walk of Fame Inductee).
