Toronto, Ontario – Ron Suter, a graduate of Humber College’s Marketing program has won a 2016 Premier’s Award in the Business category.
Premier’s Awards celebrate the achievements of Ontario college graduates in the province and throughout the world. Humber graduates were nominated in six categories: Business, Community Services, Creative Arts and Design, Health Sciences, Recent Graduate, and Technology.
Suter, a 1981 Marketing program graduate, is currently Executive Vice-President, NBCUniversal Television & New Media Distribution Canada. Known as a visionary trailblazer, Suter has played a key role in redrawing the map of the Canadian television landscape. Under his leadership, NBCUniversal has doubled its sale volume over the last decade.
This marks the ninth time a Humber grad has won this prestigious award. Recipients also receive a $5,000 bursary in their name to support current students at the college.
“We are proud of our alumni and the contributions they make to their sectors, locally and internationally. Ron Suter is a perfect example of someone who gained practical skills at Humber that he continues to apply in his role at NBCUniversal,” said Chris Whitaker, president, Humber College. “The entire college community congratulates Ron on his selection as a Premier’s Award recipient.”
