PREMIER'S AWARDS

The Premier’s Awards are administered by Colleges Ontario and honour graduates from 24 colleges across the province in seven distinct categories in recognition of outstanding career accomplishments. Presented annually, nominees have attained professional success after graduation, remain actively involved in the community, and make important social and economic contributions locally and abroad.

Categories include Business, Community Services, Creative Arts and Design, Health Sciences, Recent Graduate, Science, Technology, and Engineering, and Skilled Trades.

Humber is proud to have winners in seven consecutive years and 12 winners since 2011.

An Innisfil resident, Kenneth was elected as Ward 5 Councillor in 2018, and then Deputy Mayor of the town in 2022, serving its population of over 44,000 while also playing an exceptionally active and hands-on role as Simcoe County Councillor.

Agokwe is a powerful story of love and loss based on the infatuation of two Aboriginal teenage boys. Partly autobiographical, the play speaks to the idea of a “two-spirited” person, a male and a female spirit entwined in one body, once an accepted part of indigenous culture but now lost through assimilation.
