Ayan Warsame was a highly regarded student in the Child and Youth Care program, and the faculty members who had the pleasure of teaching her remember Ayan with fondness. Ayan personified the ideals of Child and Youth Care in how she embodied warmth, inclusion, thoughtful dialogue and curiosity. She was known to be kind, gentle and respectful of others while also advocating and speaking out on behalf of her own beliefs. Her commitment to children and youth, as well as issues of social justice, was evident not only in the classroom, but also in how she created positive connections and a sense of community with others. Ayan touched the hearts of many, and she is lovingly remembered by all those who knew her.
