OSAP for Micro-credentials

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) for Micro-credentials program provides eligible students with Ontario grant and loan assistance for Ministry-approved, quality-assured rapid training programs that help students acquire the skills that employers need.

How to Apply for Funding

Please note that you can receive OSAP for Micro-credentials funding for one course at a time and the deadline to apply for OSAP is the end of the study period (ie. last day of your course or program).

To apply, please complete the following steps:

  1. Confirm that the Humber offering you want to take is approved for OSAP for Micro-credentials funding.
  2. Log in to your OSAP account. If this is your first time applying for OSAP, you may need to create an account.
  3. Select and complete the micro-credential OSAP application.
  4. Scan, upload, and submit all required supporting documentation to your OSAP application.
  5. Enroll in and pay for the course or program you wish to take (if you have not already done so). Please note that you must be registered in the program or course and payment must be made in full at the time of registration in order for OSAP to be released.
  6. Once the course has started, Humber will confirm your enrolment and OSAP funds will be released to your bank account.

Applicant Eligibility

To be eligible for funding through the OSAP for Micro-credentials program, you must meet the criteria below as well as certain residency and income requirements specified on the OSAP website:

  • Registered in an OSAP-approved offering
  • A resident of Ontario as defined by the OSAP program
  • Previous OSAP loans must be in good standing (i.e. you have not defaulted on a student loan and/or you are not restricted from participating in financial aid programs)
