Mindful De-escalation Skills

This online, self-study workshop is designed to introduce background factors involved in interpersonal conflict. It presents consideration of nonverbal and paraverbal factors in situations of an escalating client in a workplace setting. It introduces early warning signs of potential aggressive behaviour and provides example scenarios of verbal escalation responses. Through video presentation, de-escalation techniques in a professional relationship are demonstrated and explored. A debriefing model that develops therapeutic rapport is examined, equipping students with the tools they need to successfully navigate challenging client interactions.

This workshop provides eight (8) Continuing Education credit hours with the Ontario Fitness Council.
 
This workshop provides six (6) Category A Continuing Education credit hours with The College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
