Creating a Group Assignment in Blackboard Ultra

To create a group assignment:

  1. Create an assignment (this resource will walk you through the steps).
  2. In the Assignment, select the Settings icon.

  3. Optionally, if you want to provide groups with some group communication tools, select Allow Class conversations. This feature provides groups with a Collaborate Ultra room and a discussion area where they can chat and share files.

  4. Under Additional Tools, select Assign to groups.

  5.  To the right of Group Students, select the down arrow and select an existing group to reuse (recommended) . If you want to create a new groupset, you can select one of Randomly assign, Custom, or Self-enrollment. However, a group set you created in this way cannot be accessible from Groups tab.

  6. When you are finished, select Save.
