In each of these positions, Melissa has excelled in managing diverse responsibilities such as scheduling, contract fulfillment, industry partnerships, program development, marketing, budgeting, student advising, and faculty support.

This has been demonstrated through her work in developing a student-centered work integrated learning structure for over 33 programs, as well as having led the development of numerous international initiatives, expanding existing and potential partnerships with post-secondary institutions around the world including Asia, Europe, South America, and New Zealand.

Through her roles at Achēv, JVS Toronto, and the Youth Justice Network of Toronto, Cara led the development and implementation of community programming and honed advanced skills in stakeholder collaboration, grassroots mobilization, and culturally responsive outreach. She trained and developed staff across various organizations to support communities in need, and established alliances with community agencies and public sector institutions, successfully securing nearly $1 million in funding for community initiatives.

In that time, he led the program from its development to the launch of one of the most recognized and accomplished fulltime college insurance programs in Canada. As program coordinator he has onboarded and developed an award-winning faculty, established key industry partners that led to 20+ student scholarships, licensing and technology sponsorships, work placements, and full-time opportunities for students.
In addition, John has also partnered with key insurance firms to develop two micro-credentials: Insurance Broker: Commercial Account Manager which is a three-month program built in partnership with the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario, and the Disaster Recovery Manager Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Certificate a program designed to develop project managers in the property restoration space.

Dr. Roach (Samantha) has more than 14 years of quantifiable experience designing learning programs; delivering online and in-person learning; evaluating learning outcomes; and overseeing student support services. Her experience spans the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
Prior to joining Humber College, she served as Director of Experiential Learning and Student Support at Western University in the Faculty of Engineering. In this role, Samantha oversaw the experiential learning and student support portfolios of the faculty which includes curricular and co-curricular experiential learning, the Career Services Office, the Undergraduate Services Office, Graduate and Undergraduate Student Councils, in addition to thirty-five student teams, clubs and groups. Samantha brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge having also served as a Senior Learning Partner at BMO; Manager of Curriculum Development at the Financial Advisor Association of Canada (Advocis); and lectured for several years in undergraduate and professional programs at various universities and colleges in North America and the Caribbean.
Samantha holds a Doctorate and a Master’s degree in Economics and is currently completing a second Master’s in Education (MEd) at the University of Toronto. She also recently completed the Life Design Studio Training for University Educators from Stanford University. She is the recipient of various awards as a result of her personal passion, dedication and commitment to excellence. Most recently, in 2022, Samantha received the Sharon A. Ling Award of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement by a Staff Member for her contributions and support to the academic mission of Western University. She has also written several publications including book chapters and journal articles.
