Photography Spring/Summer 2017 Courses

Summer is the perfect time to learn a new hobby! Why not choose to learn more about photography?  The Part-Time School of Media Studies & IT is offering four different Photography courses this semester. With guidance from our professional photographer instructors, you will think and work visually, using photography as a tool in self-expression, visual communication and creativity. The schedule for Spring/Summer courses is listed below:
  • FOTO 118: Black and White Digital Photography
    • Wednesday evenings, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Workshop - Public Speaking *Still Spaces Available

Facilitator:  Cathy Socoban, Raise Your Voice Coaching It's normal to feel nervous speaking in front of a crowd. But with some practice we can become a more engaging speaker. You'll gain some tips on how you can open up your voice and position your body to make a positive connection. Then you'll have an opportunity to practice speaking in front of the group. Video feedback is included.

  • Reach your listeners

Invitation to Literacy Readings at Humber College Lakeshore

The Lakeshore Campus of Humber College will again be hosting two literary readings during the 2017-2018 academic year. The readings will begin at 12 noon. They will occur in the Assembly Hall, 1 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive (at Kipling Avenue and Lakeshore Boulevard West.). The authors will read selections from their work. Afterwards there will be time for questions from the audience. The readings are free and open to the public.

Humber Strikes Gold at Skills Ontario

Skills Ontario’s annual competition took place in Toronto this year – and Humber was a proud supporter. Students participated in a variety of competitions, including culinary, cabinetmaking and mechatronics. Humber did extremely well this year, winning three gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Congratulations to all our winners:
  • Derick Cheaney won gold in the Mechanical CAD competition.
  • Spencer Brown won gold in the Cabinetmaking competition.

Career Advancement Services (CAS) - Open All Summer

Career Advancement Services will be open all summer to continuing education, part-time students, and Humber alumni!

HR Services Announcement Sacha Ally Coordinator I am very pleased to announce that Sacha Ally has joined us as Coordinator, Human Rights, Equity & Diversity. Sacha is responsible for the management of Human Rights training for employees and the Diversity & Inclusion Dialogues; facilitation of students’ human rights training and the coordination of human rights investigations. Sacha reports directly to the Director of Human Rights, Equity & Diversity.
