2017-2018 League for Innovation Student Art Competition

Congratulations to Mikayla Labadie and Kangyeol You for being recognized at the 2017-2018 League for Innovation Student Art Competition!

Mikayla Labadie received the Best of Show for “Down in the Forest” and Kangyeol You received Second Place for “Gas Meter Man.” This is a remarkable accomplishment because it is the first time that students from the same institution have won best in show and second place.

The League for Innovation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to catalyzing innovation in Community Colleges. The competition enables college students to showcase their artwork and compete with their peers across North America. Humber is a member of the League for Innovation and is an annual participant in the international Student Art Competition.

Each year, Humber hosts a local Student Art Show & Competition where a panel of jurors selects five art pieces to represent Humber at the League for Innovation International Student Art Competition. The jury panel is comprised of program coordinators from the School of Media Studies & Information Technology, the Humber Galleries curator and members from the local art community.

The Humber Student Art Show & Competition was established more than 25 years ago. It is sponsored by IGNITE, organized by Public Relations postgraduate certificate students and facilitated by Student Success & Engagement.
