Acting Associate Dean, Integrative and Allied Health

I am pleased to share that Lauren Riley has been appointed Acting Associate Dean, Integrative and Allied Health within the Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness.

Lauren first joined our Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant Program as a part-time instructor in 2018, before transitioning to a Program Advisor role in January 2019, and then became the Program Coordinator in August of that year. Prior to Humber, she was an Occupational Therapist with William Osler Health System where she was a Professional Practice Lead. Lauren’s clinical work at the bedside, implementing care plans for some of the most complex patients and their families, as well her previous management experience will serve her well in this role.

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science & Kinesiology from UNB, a Master of Science (Occupational Therapy) from McMaster, and is currently working on a second Masters Degree in Education with a focus on Instructional Design with the University of New Brunswick.

An early member of the FHSW Interprofessional Education Committee, Lauren has collaboratively developed and executed several IPE activities, and brings requisite experience and demonstrated excellence in research, curriculum development, assessment skills, and course design.

Lauren leads the following FHSW programs: Massage Therapy, OTA/PTA, Systems Navigator, Hearing Instrument Specialist, Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Wellness Coaching, and the Bachelor of Health Sciences: Workplace Health & Wellness.

Please join me in congratulating Lauren in her new role, which was effective Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
