After-Hours Mental Health Support

Student Wellness and Equitable Learning is thrilled to announce a collaborative initiative between Humber College and the Canadian Mental Health Association Toronto (CMHATO). Based on feedback from students and faculty, and grounded in a commitment within Humber’s Well-being Strategy to boost a diversity of mental health supports and resources, we are launching a pilot project designed to provide crucial evening mental health support to our learners, ensuring timely assistance during high-stress periods throughout the winter semester.

Commencing on February 12, 2024, CMHATO will be present on-site at both the Lakeshore and North campuses from Monday to Friday, operating between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. for a period of eight weeks. The designated locations for support are as follows:

  • North Campus: Learning Commons, room 3005 (located on the third floor inside the Math & Writing Centre)
  • Lake Campus: Learning Commons, room L1017 (located on the main floor)

This pilot project aims to offer our learners a meaningful alternative to the emergency department, while enhancing accessibility to mental health resources on campus. Recognizing the diverse challenges faced by our learners concerning the social determinants of health, this strategic partnership not only promotes individual well-being but also facilitates seamless connections to community resources.
