Department of Public Safety Welcomes New Team Members

The Department of Public Safety is pleased to inform the Humber community of the following changes and additions to our department.

Welcome Gio Santoro as our new Security Systems Coordinator. Gio is a seasoned security professional with more than 20 years of experience integrating, designing and implementing security systems in high-profile organizations, with a strong focus on service. As a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Gio is board-certified in security management. Gio joined us in May and has already been involved in projects for both campus locations and has proven to be a very valuable asset to our team. Gio reports to MaryAnn Gregoris.

Welcome Thomas (Tom) Urbaniak as our new Assistant Manager, Security Operations (Lakeshore campus). Tom is a retired Toronto Police Sergeant, who served the city of Toronto for 33 years in various operational and investigational roles. Most recently, Tom worked at U of T Mississauga with Campus Safety Services as a Special Constable holding the rank of corporal. Tom will be joining the Public Safety team on Tuesday June 28 and we look forward to his leadership of our Lakeshore team. Tom will also be responsible for security operations at the International Graduate School (IGS). Tom reports to Nancy Deason.

Congratulations to Adnan Salam, who was recently promoted from Security Coordinator to the role of Assistant Manager, Security Operations (North Campus). Adnan has been with Humber Public Safety since December 2017. Adnan will also be responsible for security liason at each of the five Community Employment Centres. Adnan recently graduated from the University of Guelph-Humber with a BA in Justice Studies. Adnan reports to Nancy Deason.
