I am delighted to announce that Jenna Donelson has been appointed as Director, Public Affairs & Strategic Engagement within the Government Relations, Marketing and Communications department.
In 2019, Jenna joined Humber College to develop the new Public Affairs Manager role, focusing on engaging government and other key stakeholders to advance some of Humber’s strategic goals, including developing government champions for the historic Humber Cultural Hub project. While at Humber, Jenna has worked to raise awareness about the Humber Cultural Hub with all three levels of government, played a key role in the successful advocacy to empower colleges to grant independent nursing degrees and helped inform Provincial policies for colleges throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also led events and campus visits featuring Premier Ford, Federal and Provincial Ministers and other notable elected officials and dignitaries.
Jenna is a public policy professional with more than a decade of experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining Humber, she was Head of Policy Development and Regulatory Affairs at Lending Loop, Canada’s first peer-to-peer FinTech company. Jenna also served as a Senior Policy Advisor to Ontario's Minister of Finance where she oversaw many key financial services files as well as post-secondary and education files. It was through this experience that she first engaged with public policy tools that could increase greater access to education and innovation within the college sector.
Please join me in congratulating Jenna on her new role.
Thanks,
Kelly Jackson
