Education and Training Solutions is Growing

Education & Training Solutions is excited to be growing and we are working hard in anticipation of the launch of our new Real Estate Education Program (REEP). The ETS portfolio also includes Corporate Training, Associations and Professional Programs, Credential Testing and Transportation Training. With a renewed focus on revenue diversification, we are seeking more opportunities to surpass the already anticipated annual revenue of $49 million that we deliver today. To support our lines of business, I am very excited to announce the newest members of the ETS team:

Miguel Lameiro as the Associate Dean, Program Delivery ETS. Miguel brings a wealth of experience from both the business and the post-secondary education sectors. His previous roles include Adjunct Professor as well as Chair, Built Environment School of Civil Engineering Technology and Chair, School of International Business and Management for Seneca College. He also has start-up experience including launching a Pan-African MBA program for the African Leadership University ALU. Miguel graduated with a MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University as well with a Master of Education from University of Toronto.

Nadia Desjardins as the Associate Dean, Corporate Training Solutions (ETS), Nadia comes to us with 15+ years progressive experience in the learning and development field working with global corporate customers conducting in depth needs assessments, program design, curriculum development, facilitation, selection of trainers, and program evaluation. Nadia is no stranger to Humber’s corporate training portfolio as she was the Manager of Association Programs & Customized Training from 2004 to 2010. She has also held positions such as Supervisor of the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board’s International Education Program, Recruitment Officer – Latin America for St. Clair College and National Account Director of Business Development for the Canadian Management Centre. She also comes to us with a Bachelor of Art and Applied Sciences in Psychology & Asian Studies from the University of Windsor as well certificates in project management and leadership.

Alex Ferguson as the Account Manager for Corporate Training Solutions. Alex comes with extensive experience in providing blended learning solutions to national and global organizations. Alex has more than 16 years’ experience in learning business development roles including four years directing the Learning and Business Development subsidiary of Bell Aliant. He also played a key role in employee development content management with Global Knowledge, a leading global training organization. Alex will be a great compliment to our team by bringing his strong background in eLearning, LMS technologies, and leadership experience in developing new revenue streams.

Angeline Brown as the Manager, Administrative and Client Support, Corporate Training Solutions (secondment). Angela comes to ETS from her role as Coordinator of Humber’s Advising and Academic Support Department. In her role as Student Support Advisor & Instructor she provided instructor and learning support for Humber’s Centre of Teaching and Learning. Angeline graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts double major Honours Degree in Law & Society and Sociology as well as earned a Bachelor of Education Degree. Angeline is now working on a York University Master of Education which she will receive in August 2019.

Paula MacDougall as the Manager Operations, Real Estate Education Program and Education and Training Solutions (ETS) as of October 1, 2018. Paula is not new to the ETS portfolio as she has been working on the RECO project since April 2017 as an Operations Subject Matter Expert. Prior to this role, Paula served as the Administrative Coordinator for Education and Training Solutions between 2014 and 2017. Paula also worked as a Project Assistant during the implementation of Humber’s Banner Student Information System in 2013/14.  Paula has a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree from York University. Prior to joining Humber, Paula enjoyed a career as a top-level inventory and allocations manager in the Canadian retail sector for two divisions of a multi-million dollar company.

Seon-Mi Im as the Senior Systems Analyst ETS. Seon-Mi comes to us with progressive experience in data analysis, designing reporting and providing IT driven solutions. She has worked areas including the Financial Services, Loyalty, Marketing, Advertising and post-secondary sectors. Seon-Mi has held roles such as an e-commerce analyst, senior web developer, web application developer and senior applications developer. For the past year, Seon-Mi has worked extensively for ETS on the development of Real Estate Education Program and supported the process for the Ontario Building Code examinations for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Seon-Mi has a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from University of Toronto and Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Information Technology.

Nancey Adamson as the HR Manager for Educational Training Solutions. Nancey comes to us from HR Department to support HR functions and the management of all HR activities required for ETS current operations as well as the new ventures that ETS will be exploring. Nancey is respected leader with proven expertise in designing, implementing, managing talent management and employee engagement programs for faculty, support and administrative staff. Nancey has a PhD in Higher Education from University of Toronto (OISE), a Master of Arts from the University of Central Michigan, a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education from Brock University as well as Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resources from Humber College.

Emma Phan as the HR Contract Administrator ETS and will report to Nancey Adamson. Emma comes to ETS from her role as HR Coordinator in Humber’s Human Resources Department. Emma is a Humber alumni and graduated from Humber’s Bachelor of Commerce – Human Resources Management as well as Humber’s Business Administration Advanced Diploma. When Emma was a student, she also worked a peer tutor, research assistant and support staff in the Math Centre, as an international ambassador and recruitment assistant in our International Centre as well she also worked as a Learning Community Facilitator for Student Life.

Please join me in welcoming everyone to their new roles in Education & Training Solutions. They will be located in LX104 at the North Campus until we move to our new building located at 30 Carrier Drive.
