Humber’s Latest Sustainability Report is Available

As we conclude our 2019-2024 Sustainability Plan, we are proud to share its final chapter with the release of the 2023-2024 Sustainability Report. Access the document online to learn about our progress towards the Sustainability Plan’s goals.

Some of our key accomplishments reached in the last five years include:

  • Introduction of the Office of Sustainability to the division of Inclusion and Belonging.
  • Project SWITCH, reducing fossil fuel use at the North Campus by 70 per cent.
  • Introduction of reusable containers to campus, avoiding over 340,000 single-use containers from going to landfill.
  • Reaching Bee Campus certification in recognition of our efforts to maintain healthy habitats for pollinators.
  • Launch of the Climate Action Plan, guiding us to reach net-zero.
  • Establishment of Low Waste Event Spaces on campus, where china service is the default catering option at no additional cost and no disposable plates, glasses, or cutlery are available.

As we celebrate our achievements, we also plan our next steps. We are currently developing a Sustainability Vision to give continuity to Humber’s commitment to providing national leadership in developing sustainable campuses. More information about the Sustainability Vision will be available this fall semester.

In the meantime, you can read all the annual Sustainability Reports on the Resources and Reports page.
