Joanna Amirault is the Senior Dean of Faculty of Social and Community Services

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Joanna Amirault to the role of Senior Dean of the Faculty of Social and Community Services. Joanna joined the Humber community in 2014. For the past five years, she has served as an Associate Dean in the Faculty of Social and Community Services, and prior to that was a Program Coordinator and Professor. She also served as the Interim Director of the Centre for Social Innovation, helping to establish the CSI’s strategic areas of focus. Throughout her time at Humber, Joanna has been an active member on numerous cross institutional committees including the Recognition of Prior Learning SEM Committee, Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and Taskforce on Preventing and Responding to Sexual Violence. 

Joanna received her PhD in Criminology from Simon Fraser University. She also holds a MA in Criminology (Simon Fraser University) and a BAH in Sociology and Global Developmental Studies (Queen’s University). Throughout her academic career, Joanna has been the recipient of multiple tri-council funding awards and has published her research in numerous peer-reviewed journals.
