Main KB Kitchen and Seventh Semester Closed for Construction

Humber is undertaking a project to expand and modernize the Main KB Kitchen serving the Food Emporium located in KB Building at the North Campus. This project includes expanding the existing Main KB Kitchen into the adjacent event/meeting spaces currently known as Seventh Semester. The construction has now been awarded to Area Construction Inc. meaning all affected areas will be closed effective immediately.

Seventh Semester will be closed permanently and the space will now form part of the Main KB Kitchen. A new Event Conference Centre is under construction on the 5th floor of the BCTI building.

The new combined Main KB Kitchen space will include updated cooking facilities, a new cold kitchen, gluten-free food production, dishwashing facilities, fridges and freezers, staff offices, storage rooms, a loading area to the outside, and much more. A significant component of this project is the major upgrade and modernization of the mechanical system equipment serving the Kitchen and Food Emporium. As part of a separate project, the Doris Talon Room in this area is also closed permanently and is being reconstructed in another location.
