I am very pleased to announce that Nabeel Rahman has joined Humber as the new Manager, Community and Partnership Development, in the Community Outreach and Workforce Development Department (COWD).
Nabeel is a registered Social Worker with a Master of Arts in Immigration and Settlement, focusing on the development of community resources for equity deserving communities. Nabeel has more than 14 years of interdisciplinary experience in community development and social and municipal services. He most recently worked at the Town of Oakville in the role of Community Development Specialist where he routinely conducted community assessments by engaging community stakeholders to identify emerging trends, systemic barriers and community needs in order to provide strategic direction for addressing gaps in service.
In his role with COWD, Nabeel will be responsible for leading a team that is carrying out engagement and community development in Humber’s local communities, in support of its strategic priority of access to education, training and employment for equity deserving groups. He will work closely with community organizations and networks, schools and other stakeholders such as industry, to develop programs, events and services, and to source funding for the delivery of these initiatives. He will also lead the Youth Transition Program, the Humber College Community Partnership Fund and the College Experience Days.
Please join me in welcoming Nabeel to this role!
