Professor Kazik Radwanski at Berlin International Film Festival

Humber Film and Television Production professor, Kazik Radwanski's new feature Matt and Mara has been invited to screen in the Encounters Competition of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival. The film was recently profiled in the Globe & Mail and will have its world premiere on February 20.

Matt and Mara: A young creative writing professor, is struggling with problems in her marriage to an experimental musician. One day, Matt, a charismatic, free-spirited author from her past, wanders onto her university campus. Bonded by their shared interests, the two gradually become closer. When Mara’s husband unexpectedly cancels plans to drive her to an out-of-town conference, Matt accompanies Mara on the trip instead. Along the way, the tension surrounding their undefined relationship slowly grows.

Kazik Radwanski was born in Toronto, Canada in 1985, and is co-founder of the MDFF production company. His debut feature film Tower premiered at Locarno while How Heavy This Hammer premiered in the 2016 Berlinale and Anne at 13,000 ft premiered at TIFF and was awarded the Rogers Best Canadian Film Award from the Toronto Film Critics Association in 2021.
