Retirement: Susan Roberton

After more than 20 years at Humber College, Susan Roberton has decided to retire.

A highly accomplished businesswoman, Susan came to Humber from the fashion industry after working as a buyer, merchandise manager, sales representative, and manufacturing consultant. She started in the Faculty of Business, helming their Fashion Arts, Fashion Management and Event Management programs. She has lent her entrepreneurial spark to the Faculty of Media & Creative Arts for the past five years, first as the director of Professional and Continuing Education, then as the associate dean of Continuous Professional Learning.

Susan led a rebranding and growth of the Faculty’s CE offerings, including the revenue-generating one-year full-time certificate of achievement programs, and oversaw the development and launch of the sought-after AODA training courses.

Whether as a professor, program co-ordinator, or administrator, Susan has embraced each new role with skill, aplomb, and a passion for learning and development—her own and that of her teammates. In recent years, she completed yoga-teacher training and became a GALLUP Certified Strengths Coach, leading workshops for her colleagues in the Faculty and in the International Graduate School. I have no doubt that Susan will be just as busy, and in as much demand, in her retirement as she has been here at Humber.

Please join me in thanking Susan for her leadership, passion, and commitment to teaching and learning excellence, and in sharing best wishes for this next chapter of her career.
