Ronalda Puritch, Acting Associate Dean, Centre for Education, Language, and Professional Practice

I’m happy to announce that Ronalda Puritch has accepted the role of Acting Associate Dean, Centre for Education, Language, and Professional Practice. In this role, Ronalda will be responsible for the Continuous Professional Learning offerings within the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences, as well as our Teaching English as a Second Language and English for Academic Purposes programming.

Ronalda began teaching English/ESL in 1993. She taught internationally in Mexico, England, Poland and Syria before returning to Canada in 2000. She worked as a College English/ESL teacher at Centennial College and Humber until 2017. During this period, she also held positions as a Standardized Tester and CELTA and TESL instructor.

Ronalda opened the IELTS Test Centre at Humber in November 2017. Since this time, she has grown the test centre from one location at the North Campus to three additional locations at Lakeshore Campus, Richmond Hill, and Sudbury. During the pandemic shut down, Ronalda participated in various curriculum and development projects with Academic Upgrading, TESL, the Centre for Innovative Learning, and Dual Credit/Pathways. She also mentored students in the Global Systems Gap Challenge in the Summers of 2020 and 2021. With a keen interest in EDI, wellness, and systems thinking, Ronalda allows her experience in these areas and her extensive teaching and training work to inform her academic leadership style.

Please join me in welcoming Ronalda to her new role.

Sincerely,

John Stilla
Senior Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences
