Myths and misleading information remain largely because cannabis consumers lack access to reliable, scientific sources and instead rely on information from less reliable sources. The initiative “Weed Out Misinformation” focuses on harm reduction by teaching people how to be safer, reduce risk, and minimize negative outcomes with the use of cannabis.
We invite you to learn more about the research the Engaging and Educating Young-Adult Cannabis Consumers project that launched in 2020 with funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. The research program aims to better understand young adult cannabis consumers, how they obtain cannabis information, and which myths they continue to believe as a result of prohibitionist drug education. The project is led by Dr. Daniel Bear and Dr. Ashley Hosker-Field (FCSS), and Professor Marilyn Cresswell (FMCA).
