Carol Reid is a proud Humber graduate who began her teaching career at Humber in the Early Childhood Education program in 1989. From her first day of teaching until her retirement in 2014, Carol’s dedication to students and the community was characterized by her creativity and love of learning.

While at Humber, Carol dedicated her own time and resources to establish ECE Resource Centres at Humber and the University of Guelph-Humber so that students could benefit from using quality play materials in their training. Outside of the classroom, Carol was committed to supporting Early Childhood Educators, offering mentorship and leading workshops in various early learning centres.

Carol’s peers describe her as a complete mentor and role model and someone who always has a warm, supportive attitude.

Over the holiday break, new voice dialing functionality was successfully enabled on Humber’s new unified communications platform.  The new functionality gives callers the option to use their voice instead of their telephone’s keypad to reach an extension.

The new functionality is accessible on 416.675.6622 and by dialing X2222 for internal calls.  When prompted, callers looking to use their voice simply need to state either the name or extension (example:  “Judith Jones” or “5555”) of the person they are calling.

It is important to note that only individuals who have recorded a personal verification are reachable through voice dialing.  If you have not done so already, please take a moment to record your personal verification or callers will NOT be able to voice dial you.

Recording a personal verification is quick and easy.  Simply log into your voice mailbox and select option four followed by option three and option two.  Please contact our Support Centre at X8888 if you do not know your voicemail password or require assistance.

And, as always, should you have questions or concerns, please contact me at X5290 or Ryan.Burton@humber.ca at any time.

Over the holiday break, an update was applied to Humber’s new password management tool to enhance it capabilities.

Until recently, you needed a smartphone to enroll in the tool.  Clients can now enroll using their personal e-mail address

If you have not enrolled to use the tool, please consider doing so.  Enrolling is easy and lets you reset your password if you forget it.

Enrolling also entitles you to e-mail alerts when your password is about to expire and lets you change your password online.

To date, over 11,984 individuals have enrolled in the tool.  And to date, the tool has handled over 11,524 self-service transactions.

Visit myPassword.humber.ca to enroll.  For assistance, please call our Support Centre or consult the updated Quick Reference Guide.

And, as always, should you have questions or concerns, please contact me at X5290 or Ryan.Burton@humber.ca at any time.
