Hi everyone, just a reminder that the Food Drive continues until February 19th. You still have time to donate.  We are requesting non-perishable canned food items including: meats and fish, fruits and vegetables, beans and pasta.

Food donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • LRC 1st floor
  • Athletics
  • Near entrance to Gourmet Express
  • Aboriginal Centre – Lakeshore Campus
  • Gym Entrance – February 19th only

Last Chance to Register for the Ski/Snowboard Trip

Registration will close this Friday!

This is a great trip for any student whether you are a pro Skier or Snowboarder to those that haven’t even seen snow yet.  This trip offers all your equipment as well as the lesson to get you going.  Not to mention another 150+ students just like you!!

When: Friday, February 26, 2016
Where: Ski/Snowboarding Trip – Snow Valley (Barrie)
Cost: $50/student  (This trip includes the bus to and from the hill, equipment rentals, lift ticket and a lesson) – Only 12 tickets left!
Time:  Buses will be leaving from Lakeshore at 2:00 p.m. and from the North Campus 2:30 p.m.
Registration: In person at the International Centre (Lakeshore H100, North LRC 2nd floor)

Students, Staff and Alumni are welcome!!

Financial Services and Planning is pleased to announce that effective next Tuesday February 16, 2016 all Banner Finance users will have the ability to view purchase order and vendor invoice documents dating back to April 1, 2013 via Banner SSB.  Please be reminded that your ability to view a particular document is based on your Banner Fund/Org security.   

Accessing the documents in Banner SSB is quite simple and a user guide called “Accessing Finance BDM Documents in SSB” is available on the Finance website humber.ca/finance/resources.

We hope you will enjoy this enhancement to the Banner Finance module.

Black History is Canadian History

  • Afua Cooper is a scholar, author and poet, earning her Ph.D. in Canadian history and the African Diaspora with a focus on Black communities of 19th century Ontario.
  • Dr. Cooper’s work on Canadian Black history and slavery has made her the leading authority on such topics in Canada.
  • Dr. Cooper’s publication, The Hanging of Angelique: Canada, Slavery and the Burning of Montreal, has been nominated for the Governor General Award for Nonfiction.
  • Dr. Cooper is currently the Chair of the James R. Johnston Black Canadian Studies Centre at Dalhousie University.
