Humber Today: Weekly Update Video
The Communications team will be releasing a weekly update video, featuring students in a variety of programs recapping the news of the week. Last week’s episode featured journalism student Kateryna Barnes, who highlighted the Great Canadian Appathon, Humber’s new partnership with Smart Commute and the winners of the LRC Hoarding Design Challenge. Tune in on the Communique or to Humber’s YouTube channel to see future episodes.
The Humber College Retirees’ Association hosted their annual Christmas luncheon on December 11, 2013, in the newly renovated Humber Room. This year we had an amazing number of exceptional gifts donated mostly by the college community. These gifts were used in either the raffle or the silent auction. Due to the generosity of the college community and our retirees, over $1,500 was raised for the student bursary fund. From the fund, four students were selected to receive $500 each in 2013.
Once again we want to thank everyone and every department who donated gifts and to thank the many people who helped make this year’s party such a success! We appreciated that Chris Whitaker took the time to drop in and spend some time with us and the following people for their part in organizing the party: Antonio Folino, Simka Delevska, Garry Shaw and Richard Pitteway. We especially appreciated the culinary students who prepared and served such a gourmet meal! And last but not least we can’t forget to thank Santa for dropping by at this busy time of the year.
