The Writing Centre at Humber is pleased to invite you to our Comic and Graphic Novel Event! We're organizing a panel of comics creators to engage Humber students in the joy of reading. We're very excited about the opportunity to promote the use of graphic narratives as works for academic study, and as literary texts to be enjoyed by everyone. We'd be thrilled for you to join us, as we're keen to include as much of the Humber and Guelph-Humber community as possible. We are delighted to be hosting acclaimed writers and comic artists Teva Harrison (In-Between Days), Patti LaBoucane-Benson (The Outside Circle), and Rosena Fung (comics in The Globe and Mail, The Boston Globe, and more). You will have the opportunity to hear these featured speakers read, see examples of their work, and, especially exciting for aspiring graphic novelists, ask questions.
The event will be a celebration of comics, a warm, friendly gathering of people, including students, faculty, and admin, who will be coming together in conversation around the work of our presenters.
The event will be held at the North Campus on the 3rd floor of the Learning Resources Commons building between 1 and 3 p.m. on Wednesday May 18.
