With acrylic paint and only 20 minutes, students battled it out to create the audience’s favourite human rights themed painting. Now the paintings are up for auction until March 13th!

Half the money goes back to the students, the rest goes to human rights organization Jayu. Jayu was founded by a Humber grad, originally to bring awareness to the human rights violations in North Korea, they now bring art and human rights together for all.

IDefined is an annual event held by the student club, Humber Public Interest Research Group (HummPIRG), that advocates around local and international issues that Humber students are passionate about.

Rubric - Visual & Digital Arts Faculty Exhibition
Exhibition Dates: Tuesday, March 10 - Wednesday, April 1, 2015
Reception: Thursday, March 12th - 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Rubric is an exhibition featuring new works by the Visual and Digital Arts Faculty at Humber College. Engaging with an experimental structure, each artist has produced a series of four works that address their individual creative concerns relative to notions of process, multiplicity, and narrative. Rubric reflects upon broad systems governing education and production; as faculty members claim their place as problem solvers, students become privy to the ongoing relationship between artist and learner. In the spirit of creative development, viewers are invited to assume the role of faculty and critique the artworks on show. By deconstructing hierarchies between teacher and student, artist and viewer, Rubric opens a dialogue on art education beyond the strictures of traditional systems.

Participating faculty artists include: Marc Colangelo, Rob Corrado, Stephanie Davidson, Larry Eisenstein, Noni Kaur, Diana Meredith, John Stuart, Cole Swanson, and Kyle Werhle.
