Celebrate the 25th anniversary of Humber’s Transportation Training Centre at a career fair and open house. Up to 30 of the nation’s top employers will be on hand to discuss a wide variety of exciting opportunities in the trucking industry.
Activities include:
Developed in response to a shortage of truck drivers in the late 1980s, the Transportation Training Centre was launched in October 1990 to provide a comprehensive program that went beyond simply teaching the basic skills necessary to get a licence.
“Teaching soft skills, cargo security, U.S. regulations and more, we focus on promoting road safety and developing graduates that are widely accepted in the industry,” said Rick Mikula, program liaison officer at Humber. “Employers don’t hire a driver’s licence to drive a truck, they hire a person. Humber is in the business of developing people that meet industry needs.”
