In this workshop, the importance of preparation by completing a needs analysis and creating learning outcomes will be explored. The participants will examine suggested elements in a lesson plan as well as an effective lesson plan template. The plan will identify what you will teach, how you will deliver the material, and how the outcomes are measured. Workshop runs from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Intercultural Competencies – Cultural values and assumptions influence behaviour and affect our interactions with our students. Join us to explore the domains of cultural dimensions: power orientation, individualism/collectivism, masculinity/femininity, uncertainty avoidance and time orientation. How do we provide opportunities for our students to transform through the stages of intercultural competence in the classroom? Take time to assess your own identity and translate that awareness and understanding into reflective action.
