With more than 56,000 students across all campuses, Humber College goes through a large amount of writing instruments. Instead of throwing your pens, pencils and markers away, you can recycle them on campus! 

Help us divert waste from landfill sites by collecting used writing instruments. 

Here's how it works: 

• Don't throw away your pens, mechanical pencils, markers or highlighters once they have reached the end of their usable life 
• Place them into the collection bins located on your campus
• Spread the word and encourage your colleagues and students to do the same!

What type of writing instruments can be recycled? Most types! 

• All pen, mechanical pencil and marker brands 
• Any ink colour 
• Markers including dry erase and permanent 
• If you write with it, it can be collected for recycling! 

Collection stations: 

• North Campus - just outside of Ignite, KX202 
• Lakeshore Campus - next to the elevator, L Commons (2nd floor) 

Each department is encouraged to create their own recycling bin/or box. The Office of Sustainability will be collecting from the above locations monthly. 

You can drop-off your own box to DX101 (North) or contact Tayler Buchanan at tayler.buchanan@humber.ca for alternative arrangements.
