Next up, we are putting the Sustainability Spotlight on Katie Evans and Harsimranjeet “Simran” Sandhu from Chartwells Canada at Humber College.
Katie and Simran are Chartwells food service managers for Humber’s North and Lakeshore campuses. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the residence dining hall and Chartwells-run retail spaces.
Sustainability is at the forefront of Katie and Simran’s daily business operations. They are responsible for managing sustainable operations at Chartwells food services, as well as ensuring their staff are equipped with the correct training. “Simran and I are glad to be a part of an organization that recognizes the importance of sustainability and empowers us to take action,” Katie said.
Katies and Simran's teams lead the majority of O2GO Reusable Container program operations on campus. Due to their great work and the effectiveness of the program, there has been a 91 per cent approval rate among students using the program in residence.
