Humber College’s First International Development Project in Latin America

The Humber International Development Institute (IDI) is proud to announce that we have expanded our efforts to deliver effective and sustainable development in Peru.

Humber College will now lead the Supporting the Pilot Implementation of a National Network of Digital Fabrication Laboratories (Fab-lab)-Peru (MINEDU) initiative (B.08.02 project). As part of its Pacific Alliance Program, the new project is supported by Global Affairs Canada and Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan).

Humber will work with the Ministry of Education of Peru (MINEDU) for the year-long project to implement Digital Fabrication Laboratories (Fab-labs) in the 26 Technological Institutes of Excellence (IDEX) of Peru.

Humber's IDI will also work with partner institutions, Cègep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (CSTJ) and Collège Communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB), along with support from Humber's Office of Research & Innovation (ORI), to ensure that the trainees develop the skillset they need for launching and strengthening the Fab-labs and acquire soft skills to lead innovation.
