Dear colleagues,
It was wonderful to see you at the President’s Breakfast to welcome our new President and CEO, Dr. Anne Marie Vaughan and celebrate the return of the academic term.
Each successive year builds on past achievements and holds promise for an even greater future. I am energized with the return to life on campus as we come together to work, learn and live in our Humber community.
Marking these milestones indicate distances reached, heralded progress, triumphant moments, and the celebration of achievements. Personally, I am celebrating five years serving FAST as the senior dean. Celebrating the accomplishments of our community is a joy and privilege.
It has been an exceptional experience for me to carry out this work with so many dedicated members of the FAST community, including members of our program advisory committee, alumni, industry partners, associate deans, program coordinators, faculty members, staff and student leaders, friends, and more than 6,000 students.
I humbly share with you the FAST Senior Dean’s Impact Report: 2017-2022 — a culmination of our collaborative approach and achievements these past five years.
Often, we are so engrossed in the journey, plodding away day after day, that we don’t realize how much progress we’re making until we stop and look back. Many small steps create a journey and if we don’t stop and look around, we’re going to miss some spectacular views. I hope you will take the time to dive into this comprehensive report that chronicles and celebrates the collective achievements of the Humber FAST community and join us as we look back at how far we’ve come and the exciting journey ahead.
It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to serve the FAST community at Humber College. I look forward to continuing this journey and enjoying the view with the Humber community.
With gratitude,
Farzad Rayegani, Ph.D., P.Eng., FEC.
Senior Dean, Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology
