On February, 15, 2023, the first annual Black Heritage 365: From Resistance to Resilience panel was hosted by the office of MPP Hogarth in partnership with Humber College. This event showcased stories and advice from prominent Black figures from the Etobicoke – Lakeshore and Humber Community.
Panelists included:
- Carla Neto, Executive Director at Women’s Habitat in Etobicoke
- Ian Stewart, pharmacist, owner of the largest Shoppers Drug Mart in the Etobicoke-Lakeshore community and philanthropist
- Jacqueline Edwards, Humber alumna, President of the Association of Black Law Enforcers (ABLE), 2021 recipient of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) President’s Award of Merit
- Keddone Dias, Executive Director of LAMP Community Health Centre
- Honourable Jean Augustine, first Black female MP and cabinet minister in Canada
