I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Paul Griffin to the role of senior dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology. For the past 12 years, Paul served as an associate dean in the Longo Faculty of Business and as a professor prior to that. His association with Humber College goes back more than two decades during which he has been an active contributor to many committees and working groups, including; co-chair of the Academic Freedom Working Group; past chair of the Research Ethics Board; committee member of three Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committees. As a faculty member, Paul received the Award of Excellence for Outstanding Academic Contribution.
Paul received his Ph.D. in Management from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom. In addition, he has a Master of Business Administration degree plus 21 professional designations, including Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), Chartered Professional Marketer.
Before joining Humber College, Paul was engaged in the financial services sector and served as the National Director of Operations and Compliance at ING Canada. He remains an active member of several industry boards and committees, most notably the Insurance Institute of Canada’s Ethics Advisory Board, the Federation of Canadian-Brazilian Businesses, and he serves as Chair of the Education Committee and Board of Directors for the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning as well as Chair of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Management of Ontario.
Paul is a published author who writes for practitioner-targeted publications, and he has developed a continuous stream of technical manuals, materials, and courses for both the academic and industrial sectors. He remains an active member of the Editorial Advisory Board for several academic journals.
