During the month of October, the Department of Public Safety actively supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month by organizing community outreach events and fundraising efforts. Over two dedicated days, we hosted outreach tables with Breast Cancer Canada representatives on-site to engage the Humber community and provide valuable information on breast cancer awareness. More than 1,500 community members visited our tables, demonstrating strong participation and interest. Additionally, our security teams wore pink ribbons throughout October to show solidarity and support for the cause. Our department set a fundraising goal of $1,000, and thanks to the community’s generosity, we surpassed it by raising $1,554—achieving 155 per cent of our target. This achievement placed the Humber team 10th on Breast Cancer Canada’s nationwide leaderboard.
On behalf of the Department of Public Safety, we would like thank the community for their generous support.
