Since September, Humber’s Campus Services team has had to replace many of the microwaves across our campuses due to improper use — including placing foil inside, leaving food uncovered, and overheating items. 

Microwaves are a convenient perk available to all students and employees. To help keep them in good working order (and avoid losing them), please remember to: 

• Never place metal or foil inside a microwave 
• Cover your food to prevent spills and splatters 
• Stay nearby while heating your meal 
• Clean up any spills or messes after use 

By taking small steps to use these appliances responsibly, we can reduce waste, avoid unnecessary replacements, and ensure microwaves remain accessible for everyone across campus.
