15 Employers, 35 Industry Professionals, and 1 Big Future: COWD Electronic Security Career Fair

Community Outreach & Workforce Development (COWD) hosted a high-impact Electronic Security Job Fair, bringing together employers, industry partners, students, and graduates for an afternoon of connection and opportunity. The event welcomed 15 companies from the Electronic Security sector, represented by 35 employers and industry professionals. Students and graduates of Humber's Electronic Security Technical Training (ESTT) Bridging Program had meaningful conversations with experts, explored career pathways, and learned what employers are looking for in today’s security technology landscape.

Most importantly, the event created real networking opportunities, allowing ESTT students to build professional connections, ask questions, share their interests, and in many cases, open doors to interviews and future employment.

COWD’s Electronic Security Technical Training (ESTT) Bridging Program is a specialized 13-week initiative designed specifically for internationally trained professionals. By providing participants with hands-on training in the installation and maintenance of modern security systems, the program plays a transformational role in their journey towards securing their first jobs in Canada. It serves as a vital bridge for newcomers to Canada because it turns global expertise into local employment opportunities in Canada's rapidly-expanding security sector.

This initiative directly aligns with the COWD’s goals of improving access to education and creating equity in the workforce by removing systemic barriers to employment. By validating the prior experience of newcomers and connecting them with industry partners, COWD and Humber ensures that the workforce reflects the diverse talent of the community it serves.

A big thank you to our employer partners for their time, mentorship, and commitment to supporting emerging talent! And congratulations to our students and graduates for representing the Electronic Security community with professionalism and confidence.
