The Electronics Security Technical Training (ESTT) Bridging Program is for internationally trained individuals with education and work experience backgrounds in repairing household and business electronic devices, including audio and video systems, computers and peripherals, office equipment, and other consumer electronics. Through the program, participants will gain the knowledge and skills required to work as technicians in the electronic security sector. They will also have the opportunity to learn at the workplace and find employment in the sector through CANASA member organizations.

Your Career

Since the program is offered in close collaboration with CANASA, participants in the program will have the opportunity to connect with employers in the electronics security sector through: mentoring, formal networking and hiring events with employers, and facilitated introductions of job-ready candidates to the employers who are CANASA members.

As part of employment support, participants will participate in mock interviews and employment-readiness sessions with CANASA member employers, attend networking events that connect them directly with professionals in the sector. CANASA members will provide participants opportunities to learn in the workplace, and employment opportunities.

Admission Requirements

This program is open to internationally trained professionals who:

  • Are residents of Ontario
  • Permanent Residents, Naturalized Canadian Citizens, Refugee Claimants, Convention Refugees, Approved Provincial nominee under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, Visitors under Emergency Travel measures enacted by the federal government (e.g., CUAET), and residents with temporary work permits who have received permanent residency approval in principle from IRCC.
  • Have educational qualifications outside of Canada with a minimum equivalency to a Canadian degree or diploma
  • Have Previous work experience outside of Canada in repairing household and business electronic devices, including audio and video systems, computers and peripherals, office equipment, and other consumer electronics.
  • Have attained a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment Level 6 (Consider OSLT if you do not meet this requirement)
