Engineering Bridging Program Hosts Employer Engagement Event

On July 13th the Engineering Software Skills Enhancement bridging program hosted an employer engagement event for Humber’s newcomer students to network with employers, experts and accredited professionals in the field of Engineering. Our Engineering Bridging Program empowers our already highly accomplished participants with additional training and connections in the Engineering sector that are directly relevant and reflect the industry's labour market needs in Canada. The event comprised of a panel discussion on the kinds of skills employers are looking for and how they search for talent to fill open positions. The panel discussion was followed by speed-interview sessions for the students.Companies included PCL Construction, Hatch, and Century Group, to name a few, who were looking to fill positions such as project coordinators, estimators, and designers.

The event provided the opportunity for these companies to interview, interact, and network with students & graduates of the Engineering Bridging Program. This Bridging Program is run by the Community Outreach and Workforce Development (COWD) division at Humber. It is designed specifically for internationally trained professionals who have a background in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Architectural programs. We hope that this event enabled both employers and potential employees to explore, promote and secure diverse talent opportunities within the engineering field. Thank you to all the employers and participants who contributed to this lively event!
